Brigitte Sion

Brigitte Sion is a doctoral student in Performance Studies at New York University, specializing in memorials and commemorations. From 2002 to 2004, she worked for Frederic Brenner, directing all his photographic projects, including a major exhibition and book on the Jewish diaspora. She was previously the director of a Jewish organization combating anti-Semitism in Switzerland, where she led seminars, gave lectures, testified in court, and published extensively on the history of Anti-Semitism, Holocaust memory and property restitution in Europe, as well as specific issues relating to Switzerland's attitude during World War II. She is the author of a biography of German Jewish actor Max Ehrlich (Geneva, Metropolis: 2004) and co-authored two books on the history of the automobile (Geneva, Slatkine: 2002 and 2005). She has also published over 2,000 journalism articles relating to arts and Jewish affairs. She holds a B.A. in French and German from the University of Geneva, an M.A. in French from the University of Pennsylvania, and a M.S. in journalism from Columbia University.
