Rachel Kranson

Rachel Kranson is a doctoral student a New York University, specializing in American Jewish history. Her dissertation focuses on the history of the Catskills as a Jewish resort area. This year, through a fellowship from the Jewish Women’s Archive, she is working on a project entitled “Staging the Ideal Jewish Community: Women Hotel Owners in the Catskills, 1950-1970.” From 2000-2002, Rachel was the Assistant Editor at Lilith Magazine and she continues to be a Contributing Editor for the publication. She received her BA from Barnard College in 1997, and earned her Masters degree in Jewish Women’s studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary in 2000.
