Jeremy Stolow

Jeremy Stolow is Assistant Professor of Sociology at McMaster University (Canada), specializing in religion and media, culture and technology, and globalization studies. He was a research fellow at the Center for Religion and Media, New York University, during the 2003-204 academic year, and will be a research fellow at the Amsterdam School for Social Science Research, University of Amsterdam, in 2005. His work has appeared in Theory, Culture & Society, Utopian Studies, Topia, and in edited anthologies on religion and culture. He is currently completing a book manuscript on Jewish Orthodox print culture, focused in particular on ArtScroll publications, to be entitled Orthodox by Design. His second project, The Spiritual Telegraph (working title), investigates relations of religious imagination and electrical technologies in the constitution of transatlantic modernity in the 19th century, and their consequences for articulations of culture and technology in the global present.
