This section displays art works which explore pre-and post Holocaust mediations. Within the many symbolic representations of the Holocaust, we are interested in a wide range of mediations. Our interest covers pre-war German photography, creating a "justification" for the creation of a "Jewish race", to post-Holocaust artistic and scholarly dialogues around un-representability, the uses of forgetting and remembering, as well as the complex institution of memorial museal culture and its various productions in Europe and the United States.
