Artist Project: Archeology of Images by Barbara Rose Haum

Barbara Rose Haum has been creating prints based on various myths and biblical themes that have been referenced as a mimetic strategy over the years within the Western tradition. She is merging these thematic paintings digitally and interrupting the visual languages that have served the various paintings. The results are an exploration of the past, present and future, as imitated and initiated within and through the doctrines of Western memory. She is looking at the fossilized construction of moods and motivations that speak to us through the continuity and endurance of these images. The images and text fragments challenge and de-code the performativity of text, and how human exchanges and memory is constructed through language.
