Maya Benton

Maya Benton is an art historian focusing on documentary photographs of Jewish life in Eastern and Central Europe. She serves as collection manager for the estate of photographer Roman Vishniac and is currently curating a major traveling retrospective of Vishniac's work, which will open at the International Center of Photography in 2010. Benton holds a B.A. in Archeology from Brown University, and master's degrees from Harvard (Museum and Art Education), the University of Florence (Conservation and Restoration of Art), and the Courtauld Institute of Art (German Art and Cultural Politics), where she is currently a Ph.D. candidate.
